Hi, I’m Meredith

about v3

I’ve been a food allergy mom since 2011, nearly 15 years of reading labels, calling restaurants ahead of time, packing our own cupcakes for birthday parties, and showing up to every school event with a bag of safe snacks.

My kids have allergies to dairy, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, and mustard. You’ll also notice that most recipes on this site are gluten and corn free. That’s because of my own intolerances, not allergies, but it means our whole kitchen runs that way and it shows up in everything I make.

If you’ve ever stood in a grocery aisle turning over every package looking for that one ingredient you’re trying to avoid, you know exactly what our life looks like.

I didn’t start out loving to cook. Necessity pushed me into the kitchen, and somewhere along the way I found that I actually enjoyed the creativity of it, figuring out how to make something familiar taste great without the ingredients we can’t have. That’s what this site is about.

Here you’ll find recipes we actually make, products we actually use, and practical guides for navigating the situations that come up when your kids have food allergies, school, travel, holidays, restaurants, and everything in between.

I’m not a doctor, dietitian, or allergist. I’m just a mom who has been doing this for a long time and wants to make it a little easier for families who are just starting out, or who are deep in it and need to know someone else gets it.
